Sweet and Spicy Sauce For Sweet Potato Fries
Try this unusual blend of Apple Honey Cayenne Sauce with a touch of salt. You will be pleasantly surprised how well this merges with sweet potato fries. Pile it on or deep dip these fries. If you have a sweet tooth and like that spicy zip you’ll love this sauce.
What Cinnamon To Use For Apple Honey Cayenne Sauce
I discovered a similar sauce to this one as a lunch plate out at a restaurant. It was very good but I enjoy my version of this creation. I made it with Vietnamese cinnamon. Cinnamon is one of the oldest spices in the world. Vietnamese cinnamon is prized among most bakers because it has such an intense amount of flavor. Being that it is so flavorful you only need a little bit when you use it because of its oils. It is defined as more of a sweet yet spicy cinnamon.
Why I use Honey In Apple Honey Cayenne Sauce
I know honey is controversial in a vegan diet but I only use it for medicinal uses and dishes that absolutely need honey or old family recipes. This is one that is a fond memory or where I use to eat with a friend who is no longer with us. You can substitute whatever sweetener that is your favorite in this recipe.
How To Make Apple Honey Cayenne Sauce
This is a little twist on an old recipe and so easy to just mix all together in a bowl. It is so very easy to whip up in about a minute. The ingredients are in most households.
I added the cayenne pepper as a new version on my own take of what I wanted this recipe to taste like. When I experimented with it I found this was what I was looking for. It rounded all the flavors because of the extra zip it gave to the sweet potato fries. It really added that extra something to the end taste on the palate of the tong.
I made this recipe with sea salt as the last bit of this Apple Honey Cayenne Sauce. As usual the fries have salt so it just gave it that extra little salty taste that we all desire on our fries. You can leave it out if you are on a low sodium diet, but I found it to be just the right balance.
If you are a vegan I think this would be very good warmed up on vegan cheeses spread over your favorite crackers or a warm bread. When fresh figs are in season I would like to try this sauce warm over grilled figs. I will give it a go next fall.
I hope you enjoy this Apple Honey Cayenne Sauce. If you have other ideas or recipes you could use this in or on please let me know and I will give it a try. Enjoy!
